Twilight Hill Music Studio offers private Suzuki piano lessons for beginner and intermediate students at my home studio in the Warm Springs area of Boise, Idaho.
BIO
Mary Ann is a nurturing teacher who works with beginner students (and their parents), intermediate students, and ambitious adults to learn musical technique, musical sensitivity and reading. Mary Ann knows the transformative power of music. She knows that the abilitiy to appreciate good music and the effort it took to create, along with the willingness to open one’s soul to the power of music are gifts that will last forever. She delights in helping others realize their power to create music.
Mary Ann began her piano studies being taught by her parents until she begged for a “real” piano teacher by first grade. She took private lessons, performed and competed through all her school years. While keeping her piano studies as a constant at various times she also took violin, clarinet, flute, and voice.
Mary Ann has had the honor of starting dozens of students on their path to musical appreciation over the past 25 years. With her inherent patience she carefully guides both new and “new to Suzuki” students to master the skills of Book 1, which provides the foundation for success with all other repertoire. She also loves to teach intermediate students who are reaping the success of earlier dedication.
She has trained in the Suzuki Method in both California and Idaho. She is certified in Books 1, 2, 3, and 4 - in addition to the fundamental “Every Child Can” course and the supplementary “Teaching Music Reading: From Sound to Symbol” Course
Mary Ann holds a B.S. in Educational Psychology from Brigham Young University.
